Meet Susan Walthes, LPN, Nurse Injector. Susan brings to The Wellness Spot specialized training from the National Laser Institute in Chicago and years of experience administering aesthetic treatments such as Botulinum Toxin A injections and microneedling. Prior to coming to the Wellness Spot, Susan owned her own Aesthetic company and after many years decided to set aside running her own company and bring her knowledge and expertise and especially her passion to help grow The Wellness Spot. Susan is driven by the positive impact she makes in her clients’ confidence and self-esteem by helping them achieve their desired aesthetic outcomes and she does it with ease.

stress-free. Founded by Kelly Whitaker, APRN, ANP-BC, our clinic brings together same-day
healthcare and med spa services in a warm, welcoming environment.
Kelly has been a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner for over 13 years, with a diverse
background in general practice, podiatric care, and critical care. She earned her BSN from
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2002 and spent over a decade working in Critical
Care at St. Louis University Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center. In 2015, she launched Advanced
Practice Nursing Services, expanding her career into independent practice by 2018. By 2020, she
obtained Full Practice Authority, allowing her to practice independently.
Most of Kelly’s career has been dedicated to Long-Term Care, General Practice, and Podiatric
Care, but her passion for wellness and aesthetics led her to complete specialized training
in Botulinum Toxins. This fueled the creation of The Wellness Spot, where she blends her
extensive medical experience with aesthetic treatments to help clients feel confident and cared
for.
At The Wellness Spot, we focus on personalized care, treating everything from common illnesses
like colds, flu, and sinus infections to offering aesthetic services like Botox to enhance natural
beauty. Whether you need quick, reliable healthcare or a moment of self-care, we’re here to help you feel your best.
Kelly lives in Mascoutah with her husband, Trevor, and their two kids, Jaxon and Kylee. When
she’s not caring for patients, she’s cheering on her kids at their latest sporting events or spending
time with family and friends.

Mykale R. Elbe, also known as Mickey, is an accomplished healthcare professional with an extensive experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Currently serving as the Associate Dean of Nursing at Maryville University, she has a strong commitment to advancing nursing practice. Mykale holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Saint Louis University (2017), where she also completed her Master’s (Family Nurse Practitioner, 2012) and Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing (2008).
With over a decade of clinical experience, Mykale has provided high-quality care in various settings, including pediatrics and adult medicine previously working for People’s Health Centers, Mercy Health Care, and Right from the Start Pediatrics.
Mykale has contributed to the nursing field through her publications and presentations, addressing topics such as health promotion and breastfeeding support. Recognized for her leadership and commitment, she serves on several national and regional committees. Honored with various accolades, including recognition as a finalist for the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year, Mykale is a member of prestigious nursing honor societies and an advocate for community health initiatives. She continues to inspire to improve the health of the community of Mascoutah, where her and her husband (Jason) raise their three boys (Owen, Noah, and Jackson). They are both active members in the Mascoutah Community coaching local sports teams
